Dear Doris

Got your letter this morning + guess it seems good to get home again + spread out. We miss you + the house seems empty but I have been very busy airing the bedding + washing bed clothes + straightening out things. today I was getting in my plants + washing the pots. the shower of yesterday left the wind in the cold quarter, so this morning it was cooler, but it has clouded up since noon + think it seems a bit warmer.
I have just had my nap after a busy morning. I feel as if some of the grapes ought to be picked + may pick a few later on Alices for instance she wanted a few of the petunias + was asking me about them. the last time I was down there as she has gotten most of her plants in for the winter.

Mystic called up the morning you went + said she had been busy or she should have tried again to have seen you . She has got Mrs. Pattern to care for + says she talks a steady stream. terrible tiresome the same thing over + over again. the daughter is gone most all the time. so I hear Mystic is going to stay there till the first of November + guess that's as long as she can stand it.
