Dear Doris

It has been a warm sunny day Harris came early to shave Pa. I have had my nap & am sitting out in the shady back yard writing the letter + watching the children opposite they are three little boys.
Mrs Gilzer's little boy is going to the shore he is a delicate nervous child, her husband is not at all well. but she seems healthy. the other two are a case + on her nerves she brought me over some more black figs Pa likes them to chew. he gave Talbot back his tobacco he had given him. much against (Talbots) his wishes + to day I said what made you give it back. he said because he had got me crazy. he stays talking too long. then when he goes Pa is crazy + I have to set him down to supper as soon as possible. he is so upset.
The Brockton fruit man came today + I got a half doz peaches. they were large + yellow they are my fruit + Father was very fond of them they were the last things he ever bought I remember. I got a postal card from Lena she had been to Hanover with her sister for eleven days.
