Dear Doris.

we had a nice rain all night by shells it kept up + it must have wet down enough to satisfy all who were wishing for the blessing. it is rather muggy to day but this afternoon the air has started up.

I have been downtown + I met a number of people I had to stop + talk with. someone came up behind me and grabbed hold of my arm + lo + behold it was alice she was coming up to see me but meeting her down town she said she would not have to climb the hill. she was staying at the Servells for today + then going back to Everette. Gladys was not working, but Shirley was called back after 2 weeks loafing. this man who is over him, was taken sick + alice says theres some hopes of him getting the job. They like him he has been there fourteen years + he is very thorough + looked up to by those under him. alice is going to another place the 20th the old lady died where she was in N Easton the woman wanted him to come right away after that job, but he had lost so much sleep she said she was in need of rest
