sit there when we wanted to get away from the house occasionally. its nice & cool & shady. no one to interfere with ones comfort. the McGarveys are working in the shop all day. Pa is up stairs & very quiet. I dont think he takes much notice of things going on around him. the most he is interested in is eating. I have to get his meals on time or he begins to eat wherever he can find it. its very annoying sometimes. no manners now a days. going back to the animal state fast. Its [[it's]] harder than anything to witness such changes. death is certainly prefferable [[preferable]]. It has started to rain again & grown cooler as the day advances. hope it rains all night. it is growing dark not a very good day for Ralph to travel in his car. he had worked steady of late & was looking forward to this vacation so Maud said. I dont [[don't]] know whether Henry was going or not. they never mention him. he is growing broader every time I see him. I guess he is good hearted but spoilt in the bringing up. I now hope you dont [[don't]] roast or work too hard
