6 at morn This is a nice day + hope this letter goes out this morning Stoughton July 27th 1932 Dear Doris we had a thunderstorm shower with a small ammount of rain, the first since the time you went back home it smelt good you may believe. the sun has clouded in to day + we may get more showers later its very muggy. we are going light + and using our grill I bought some more peaches today of the Brockton man. this year I can eat them they are my particular fruit. fruit this weather + [[season?]] we are feeling are much better than meat. tomorrow we are going order sausages she is fond of them + so am I have not had any for so long I forgot how they taste. I was awake most of the night. I drank lemonade + it dont agree with me its too acid + I love it to we have just had our afternoon tea. every thing is sticky + clouded over it seems like a shower. I called up Maude she fell + hurt her foot so she is lame. Hattie Ripley
