Dear Doris
There is a cool wind a blowing today and its very comfortable out of the hot fun. Pa has with him Harris who he has been waiting for with great anxiety since moving to come to shave him. I went down in the early morning before the sun got too warm after my groceries. I happened to meet Mary Yoomey she was coming from the Post office with their mail, she asked after you and when you were coming home. she begins to show her age in spite of the quiet life she has always lived. The Yoomeys know how to take care of themselves. Redmond and Frank live at home, but Eugene drives home in a small single car once a week and leaves quietly Monday morning to sell goods. Mrs. Ballentine says she don't think they do a great deal of business but no one would know their affairs as she says. they are very private we all know. she says Mary [[?]] had a beau. an old maid very quiet not much fun in her.
