[Top left margin]  PS. We all had fleas when the rail road was put through. but they were the ones different from those on animals but they bit just as bad they got into beds & stayed on us.  they are worse than bed bugs you cant catch them as easy. & when they bite they poison worse  too bad you have to have them.  your dogs are what they breed on a good many dogs in that place  Ma  [Top left margin}

Dear Doris. Rather warm but plenty of good air. pretty dry we are in great need of more rain as lawns are getting pretty brown. I got a quart of milk + have made junkets for our supper. I can make custards + rice + tapioca puddings with evaporated milk + chowders are richer made of it. Mrs Ring does not believe in using it for cooking. she says that she can always tell it by the taste. but Mrs Ballentine says she use it + asked me if I did. her Addie took the car + went down to Plymouth she took Mary Toomey + a couple of other girls her mother told me last night it cost them as much and she did not know but perhaps
