Dear Doris

Sunday I was writing letters when hearing somebody rap on the window. I looked up & saw Ella she came on the bus & went home the same way. she had grown old looking the past year but is pretty well. it will be a long time before she gets over her great trouble if ever.

George Bing came over while I was sitting here reading & he nocked [[knocked]] on my window. he brought over a tame squirrel it had strayed away from its home over across they way over to his house, & he was carrying it home hugged up under his chin for fear his cat would catch it she's after birds & all such things. 

Well the 4th was rainy in the afternoon so the noise was postponed for a while.  it spoilt
