You are hereby authorized to retain in your possession - clear of all process of civil law - and for the purpose of paying all the claims of the laborers on said plantation Sixty (60) Tie Bales of such Cotton as is now on the said plantation (ginned or otherwise) together with sufficient amount of bagging ties each to finish baling the same: Also the corn that is in the crib on the said Plantation and to ship, sell or dispose of the same at your discretion for the purpose above named and this shall be your authority for for so doing.
