Honored Sir
After the close of last war & the migrants had been declared free my wife had two little Negraw children one was a girl about 9 years old & the other a Boy about 6 the children did not home with father or mother & wanted to live with my wife. [[Fa]] Robert Johnson & Mr Babson of this county cames & takes the little [[pickanis]] away the children did not want to leave & they ran off & tride to hide from them but the men caught them & taken them away anyhow. The little [[piccanis]] are crying every day to come back my wife had been teaching them how to spell & intended to do a good part by them. Now I surely want a [[shaming]] to let the children come here & live with us. & By Granting me the favor you will oblige me & the children.

Yours most Respectfully
