On receipt of letter of July 17, these plates were reviewed and no ^[[appreciable]] variation found in any of the star images between zeta Orions and -1°1004. Plate AC622, taken Dec. 26, 1899, heavy 2.3 exposures was also examined.
W.P.F.

An exam of the above plates fails to show any evidence of variation in -1°1012 exceeding 0.4 or 0.5 magn, which diff might be due to photographs. Astbury chart for y and z must be in error as no stars appear on any of the plates in these positions. The supposed variation is always fainter than a and b and brighter than c and d.
