For reduction of these plates one value has been derived from D.C. Magns. and a further correction from a grouping of Diff.

Another value of the constant is to be derived by taking the diff. between using the M.P. Magn. in Table I, Vol. XXIV Corr. by Table XX. Vol. XXVI pt I p. 86, and the obs. br. of [[strikethrough]]for[[/strikethrough]] stars of classes A and B having K recorded N, or K=.5 H or less. [[strikethrough]]This can only be carried as far north as + 85 29[[/strikethrough]] As Table XX does not go beyond [[strikethrough]]that[[/strikethrough]] Dec.

+85° 29' a curve has been drawn from which the correction, between Dec 85° 29' and 89° 0'may be read directly

Transcription Notes:
Is the first character in the first row a cursive J or a &? Also should the rows even have the &? Should the words be in the second column? (New editor) I believe it is a J in the first column and I believe the data entered is only the length of that one column on page one and the rest are notes. Not 100% sure though. I don't like the way these columns look. There are actually only 5 columns with the degrees written in the margin of the notebook. The page is much fussier than the original. Yes to the notes. I think the letter is an I, and you are correct to insert it all the way down.
