The showers became more & more numerous & we saw no object in remaining and so turned back stopping at the deserted village where I got a skull of a man - then on to the vessel just as a nasty sea was making up. As soon as we were on board the anchor was hoisted & we stood on to the Northwest and rounded Cape Espenberg in the eve and stood away for Berings Str. on our way to St. Michaels & thence homeward -
The weather improved all the pm & a beautifully clear moonlight night ensued with a light favorable breeze.
