Through a break in the clouds in the morning we got a glimpse of the blue sky in which were floating small cottony patches of calm cirrus clouds - Our raised expectations however were dashed in the afternoon by the wind rising from its do quarter once more.

Wind a fresh ESE breeze. Cloudy all day & a heat sea The weather forces us to keep off to the Ed by W. toward Vancouver Is- where we will have to put in for more coal unless we get more favorable weather before long.
