This agreement between W.H. Russell of the county of Yazoo estate of Mississippi Employer Employer and the following Laborers whose names are signed to the paper [[?]] That the said Employer hereby hires said Laborers as plantation from the dates severally affixed to their repeating names for the current year One thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven (A.D. 1867) and for the faithful services to be rendered in said employment by said Laborers during all that time, the said Employer agrees to set aside one half of the Cotton crop or the proceeds thereof for their payment, according to the prorata of their clafsication and the length of time employed. Which clafsication will be hereafter be agreed upon in an Article Supplimentary to the indentured. The cash of Provisions and Storages, with the expences incidental and accidental after the plantation is stocked, to be returned to said Employer out of said Laborers' apportionments. and in considerations thereof the said Laborers hereby agree to render to said Employer or his agent for and during all of said terms due obedience and faithful services, and will and promptly to perform all work afsigned them in accordances with the instructions of said Employer or his agent, and bestow due care and attention in all things, upon all property and interests committed
