Smithsonian Institution United States National Museum Washington, D.C. July 21, 1899 Mr. R. I. Geare, Chief, Division of Correspondence and Document, United States National Museum Dear Sir:- Replying to your letter of July 19th, the 165 entires in the catalogue of the Bureau of Animal Industry are the property of the said Bureau, and are deposited in the National Museum for safe keeping. The 34 entires are the property of the United States National Museum. We have always kept two catalogs on account of the Bureau of Animal Industry collections being so much larger and receiving so many more specimens during the year. It was our desire to keep the material separate with consecutive numbers. Very respectfully, Albert Hassall Acting Custodian, Helminthological Collections [[margin note]] JMB lackd / y [[margin note]] [[margin note]] File in Ann Ref. file [[margin note]]
