Stoughton April 26th 1933

Dear Doris
It rained all night & this forenoon, this afternoon its clearing & a trifle cooler. I have been out digging around the bulbs. they are very showey & bright. The chrysanthemums came Monday in good condition. I have them set out in a big box up in the back chamber. where they will get started, before they are set in the ground. you know our season is too cold for them yet a while. I made that mistake once & since have profited by it. I went down to Alices after books it had just started to sprinkle but before I got there it was raining pretty hard. I managed to get home just before it housed [(?)]. Being nice enough not to linger it seems that Ena Braman is broken up & she needs some one to care for her, as there are times she is not capable of managing her affairs. Alice gets eight dollars a week, she comes and that old age tension, the same as Hattie Packard. that helps out the down & out class who have no property. like Joe Bunn & some others too like him its a shame. for this class to have to help. Tell Sidney the Walker [(?)] spoke of are doing business in Stoughton
