Stoughton April 13th 1933
Dear Doris
We had a freezing rain which turned into snow sometime during the night. it never rained harder for hours, then in the morning the snow was four or five inches deep and that accounted for the chill in the air all day yesterday. the wind has been of gale force but is now easing up a bit and shows signs of clearing. I am in hopes it may be pleasant soon this is cold winter weather. your letter with the pictures arrived to day and were very interesting. I call them all pretty good and showed the places where you had been and its evident you have all enjoyed this trip immensely. I think where the baby stands with her foot on the big piece of coral, is a smoky looking log and I would not dare go near such a swamp. it was a nice picture of her though but pretty risky standing there seems to me you took your risk. deliver me. I am making my rug yet braiding my old stocking, they are hard to sew. I am about through now. The men have just been here putting in a new water
