Stoughton February 23rd 1933

Dear Doris

I got your letter to day. glad the almanac had at last arrived, it has been two weeks on the way. I tried to think it had been addresed [[addressed]] wrong but couldn't 

It rained before seven & cleared before eleven, so now the wind blows, but its sunny. lots of wind clouds over head but the sun is warm.

I have at last finished the little sweater & tied it up in a bag, away from moths & she can have something to wear when she goes to school. 

To day makes me think of March, warm sun & cool wind, well it soon will be. but as you say, winter has not all gone by a long shot. I have just been out & sawed up a pieces of joice [[joist]] for to start my fire with mornings. the air seemed good & sweet after the rain. I strung up some fat pieces from the lamb I got Friday. we have also been eating lamb broth for most a week.  I got the meat & while I was waiting for the man to do it up I went across to the other side to order some groceries to be brought up with the lamb. so the woman clerk went over & took the bundle & they brought them up that
