Stoughton February 21st 1933

Dear Doris

We are having a sunny day to day its cleared again in the night. the wind has come up since noon + may be colder towards night. but it seems good now + warm. I have just finished my last book, they are due to go in on the morrow. "The Heather Moon" is the name of it a good book. it seems good to see the groun [[ground]] bare again + the sun, as yesterday was a dark rainy day. I am going to prepare my boxes so to plant tomato seeds in the house it may be a little early. but last year my plants were rather small when it came time to set them in the ground. I got Sky Grant to fix the ground for them after he cleaned out our vault + he was a good hand for it. The Drakes boy (Gertrude Elmes boy) came here with seeds to sell so I was lucky to have him. he is very modest like his mother. not a bit like his sister Barbera, she was bold. I could not bear her when she was small + growing up she may be different now, she goes to high School the oldest girl is married + lives in California. married a Kelsey much too good a man for her.
