Stoughton February 9th 1933

Dear Doris

Last night we had all kinds of weather. the first part the bed clothes seemed hot & heavy so I threw some of them off. then after wards, it began to blow up rain, my didnt it pour & the wind blew. well sometime after mid night the wind went into the NWest & it grew cold & the wind kept up. this morning it was around the zero mark with the wind blowing a gale. now its pretty cold. just as Pa went up stairs I turned on the heat aroun 60 & he never noticed so went to sleep on waking up he felt of the register & found it hot, so then he began but as the rooms were comfortable I turned it off, so now I guess it may begin to moderate down to more sensible weather. the ground was sprinkled over with snow. but it has melted now. I have finished my book "Belle Mère" is the title, so now I am ready to carry it down to Alices when its decent weather. Mrs Hattie Packard has been sick a month ago & does not appear out she is one of the careful kind & scart blue when any thing
