of the chapter. he is deserving of his fate. poor Lina had a hard time living with a man so hateful all those years. he wont have Mamie come home to help him out either I guess they are too much alike. it is so spring like Pa is staying up stairs by him self. Since noon the wind has changed + its now in the Nwest it has clouded up & looks as though we might expect a storm or colder weather. the sun has got so high that the house does not shade me now. I am thinking that Pa is after some thing to eat I hear him rattleing around. he is sure to eat just before his meals + comes to table saying theres nothing here he wants, terrible aggravating. well I suppose he dont know what else to do with himself. I had a fish chowder for dinner + it tasted good he seemed to like it also.

I will stop now + get my supper started. it has been a lovely day + I have been busy most of the time since I got up at half past six. the paper says cooler tonight that's what the black clouds meant. Ma
