Stoughton January 29th 1933

Dear Doris

Another day of this damnable weather. I hope it will blow out sometime. The sun is trying to make its appearances so many be by to might it may be better. The blow is still going good now.

I am afraid to go out after this slippery going & there's nothing that needed to take me out. Friday night in the storm I went down with my library books to Alice's, as they were due to go in Saturday. But it was not bad traveling. But storming I went & mailed the letter to the office. As I was waiting to cross at the corner, a nicely dressed woman took me along by the arm & said "come on" we were both waiting there to cross on to where they park front of the church. I dont [[don't]] know who the young woman was, but I felt we were safe to go, so I thanked her and went. It was nice to be guided by some one once, who took an interest in helping me.

Mort Lamb called up on the telephone to ask me if I was going to write you today & I told him yes. He is opening a place in Washington 1106 Connecticut Ave, where he is displaying his
