Dear Doris

Our snow storm came after a very windy night & its a penetrating air came with it with the wind to the North West its [[it's]] still storming in good shape. I hope it clears soon. Harris has been here to shave. I have just sent off a letter to Lena so she will get it by tomorrow. it begins to look & feel like January. & hope those who are continually preaching "well this is unhealthy weather" will be satisfied now its [[it's]] wintry again. I have been making sugar cookies & squash pie. I made some mince pies the other day Pa does not eat them, they are good & a change. My russet apples are still holding out, they are the best apples for keeping they never rot. I guess its [[it's]] because they are dry & hard but pretty good in flavor. Its [[It's]] a driving snow storm outside & bids fair to keep it up although the snow does not gather fast. I have got a good book to refer to between times & its [[it's]] got to go in tomorrow. I see, so let the weather quilt. I hope you are not having a taste of this wintery feeling storm for its certainly a complete change to anything we have been having lately
