Dear Doris

This is a cold stormy day it began with snow then it turned into rain. very dismal it is a little warmer since early morning. bad day to be outside.

I have just made a raw rice pudding & pa has eyed it ever since I took it from the oven. he had not had one for some time so will keep it warm on the back of the stove ready for him to eat with his supper.

The wind is rising so it shows sighns [[signs]] of its clearing. our storms this winter seem to all clear off in the night. I am afraid the week end is going to be cold we have had a nice warm spell now the weather will change to the other extreme. the children are feeling bad because of no snow for coasting, but next month may bring them snow in abundance, cant [[can't]] tell.

I dont see why Alice dont [[don't]] answer my letter. I am anxious to know where she is this winter & what she is doing. I am the only one she writes to here. By tomorrow I will have to go down town to pay my electric
