Stoughton Jan 16th 1933

Dear Doris

Another pleasant day after a terrible white frosty night. this would mean another storm near at hand I suppose. We are lucky. two very sunny days in succession.

I am still sewing patchwork & keeping at home people are riding but I am not envious I little expected some one might drop in yesterday but there was nothing to break the monotony all day long Pa watched every movement I made & followed me all over the house. I wished I might fly off to another planet.

I am thinking that it was about the time Talbot might show up at the house. he always comes about so regular. nothing seems to jar him much. he likes to criticise [[criticize]] pretty well. Harris thinks he has too swell a head. I guess he may be near the truth maybe others think so. What do you think of Stoughtons [[Stoughton's]] new hospital? the building resembles one & it gives George Dears a place to work. the Bright family got out in the nick of time. I suppose it adds to the town & may bring business people here. no [[now]] all the town lacks is business now. this town is sure to grow give it the chance. it may not be in my day it certainly has changed much over the last twenty years.
