Dear Doris

the day has begun pleasant & warm after a slight snow sometime during the night. it seems fine after these days of chilly feeling air, that was very frustrating. also showing there was snow around us. if we were lucky not to get much of it. 

I have managed to get Pa to change his shirt & stockins [[stockings]], they are on the line now drying, I have made a squash pie for our supper. there is nothing much more to do. 

I had a long letter from Lena yesterday, there is more trouble with Miss Garland & guess its [[it's]] not all Lena's fault either, I guess Miss Garland is a tartar + Lena is in need of more sympath [[sympathy]] than we have thought. I wish that she had a different one to live with. it looks to me as if she was trying her best to get rid of Lena. but she is determined to stick there if possible, untill [[until]] spring. but guess its [[it's]] pretty ruff [[rough]] sledding just the same. strange any one wants to be so hateful. I think if it were me I would turn around & raise cain so to make her
