cloth I have got enough for patchwork left which will make enough to get rid of. I am waiting to get hold of the pattern if Myrtie will ever show up again. I guess she enjoys being up to Careta [[Carita]] Mardens she is growing fat every time I see her, she ought to exercise more Alice says. I dont [[don't]] know why Alice does not write. I have not heard from her this winter. she was to that same place North Easton taking care of an old lady. her letters I enjoyed & have missed them a lot.

Chips sister is lucky to have money to support her out of the transaction, but I should think her faith in human nature would be slightly shaken by this time. the world seems full of rascality money is a curse in the most of cases although a necessary evil its also called & hard to keep. Mrs C might think it seems so in her case. poor woman she has a big heart I ought to have given her a bigger xmas present but I was awful busy at that time as I remember. well there is nothing I have to write about so will quit 'till tomorrow.
