Dear Doris.
 
It seems good to have another warm sunny day, just freezing when I hung out my sash curtains this morning today. 

I am cleaning up my house window in the kitchen & dining room & curtains. it's nothing but holidays & company over to Ballentines [[Ballentine's]] the young folks entertain nights & go riding days Mary Toomey & Francis are very thick with them. they are fond of style. I never see Mrs Toomey she is an invalid I presume. I miss Nellie & guess they all do. she wore herself out for her family & never regained the strength from that last sickness she had. Pa is calm today one of his good days. 

I am trying to work up those calico pieces into making a cover for a bedquilt am stripping it up instead of making patchwork anything to sew as long as I cant [[can't]] go out Pa is eating since his nap so he wont [[won't]] want any supper later on. 

If Lena would let other folks work out their own problems, it would be better for all of us. you should know by this time how his disease acts on him. everybody who
