comes to see him, he says the same old thing for sympathy. everything is all to pieces. he is all to pieces. you may fix things up & still he would say the same. no money. nothing to wear, no shirts no nothing. everything has gone to pieces. its [[it's]] the way he sees everything, a mania.

I try my level best to get him to wear his better clothes he wont, he had the old pair of pants on Sunday & he simply would not put on anything else. he has got three better suits, but wont wear them, what can you do? just simply let him do as he has a mind to, he always did & he always will.

I hope Lena wont be foolish enough to feel that the fault lies with any body else & get terribly mixed up to think of buying him a suit. he would not want it, he says he dont [[don't]]. when he read her letter to day money thrown away simply.

It is hazing up another storm brewing. I am afraid if it comes in the nighttime no matter. I hope Mrs Cutting is over the cold & feeling better. I am not subject to colds unless I go where they are & catch the germ thats [[that's]] one reason I dont [[don't]] call to Lotties [[Lottie's]] her house is full of them they are sick there all the time. but the old woman Lotties [[Lottie's]] mother is very feeble. pity her time dont [[don't]] come they would all be better off without her.
