10 THE HEEBIE JEEBIES January 31, 1925

RADIO FRAGMENTS
By VINCENT SAUNDERS

Ladies and Gentlemen:
This is station He. B. G B. broadcasting from the studio in the Cowan Bldg. Stand by one moment, please.
----------
Old John Parker has turned up with a brand new wife; he certainly didn't let his heels cool any twix No. 1 and 2. If we didn't know John so well we'd be inclined to suspect the whole thing was a frameup. Nurmi hasn't anything on that boy when it comes to speed.
----------
Mike Williams, president of "Just us" club and heavyweight champion After-Breakfast story teller is getting around in pretty good shape following a severe attack of rheumatism. mike is one of Unc'. Sam's right hand men.
----------
Gen. Al Gaines whose official duty is to see how long he can keep you standing out on the curb down at the Vendome Theatre is the world's best little adviser to old gentlemen with youn wives. Al's been looking at that picture called "Locked Doors."
----------
Erskine Tate, the valuable director of the Vendome Orchestra, is improving. Of course, there is but little room for that as far as music is concerned, but gosh! how that man has learned to bow.
----------
Geo. Turnley, fancy cigar maker and fancier real estate operator has thrown a deal whereby some worthy church folk get a magnificent new place of worship. Geo. is always throwing something or other.
----------
Up in Mrs. Codeman's the other night Johnny Duncan, eminent tonsoralist, was relating how he narrowly escaped death over in the Argonne. Johnny's story thrilled us so we forgot to eat our dessert.
----------
We went into William Adams Haberdashery to sell William some advertising, but William says he will wait until spring - which makes us wait until summer to get our winder underwear.
----------
Duke Hodges was home last Sunday - Musta been nice and quiet around the club.

SUNSET CAFE

The "Sunset Rays" which has been staged at this house for the last week or more is still drawing the patrons that go to see a clean cut snappy show. Credit must be given to Lawrence Deas, who has staged the act, for employing such stars as Austin and Delaney, former stars of "Strut, Miss Lizzie," both of whom are making them like it with their songs together. Richardson is regarded as one of the biggest singing sensations who has ever come to the city.

PLANTATION CAFE

The Plantation Cafe, offers a revue this week, not yet age-worn, the "Peacock Strutters," featuring Brown and McGraw in extraordinary entertaining. Mae Alex, the new prima donna, appears to be an unexcelled song bird. Then, of course, this place has its regular staff of favorites, among them are Margaret Jackson, Boots Marshall, White Bros., Margaret Simms, James Jaxon, and the eight little dancing peacocks. Manager Paley informs the writer that this cafe is doing a capacity business lately. Dave Peyton's Symphonie Syncopators, by the way, are almost a show themselves.
