looks much better for it. its cool with a west wind blowing so I have had to shut down the end window as it blows in on my leg. I begin to dread to night. A grey squirrel has built her nest in the white oak overhanging the house. Bing & Mrs Ballentine were over in the yard last night in our yard viewing the nest much concerned, as he had stripped the chair covering in his teeth to form his nest their chair they keep to sit in beside their hammock. I told them to get George McGarvey to shoot him. he is a nuisance I am afraid they will gnaw into the roof for their winter home. Our new neighbors over in Franks tenement house are not what they represented. George says they are all right. they are digging up where Conlan had his garden & act as if they were interested to make thing look better in their yard. Alice didnt [[didn't]] know that Nellie was dead till I told her last night. I have not seen Mrs Gilzer for two days she may be over to night though, it is getting on towards four O'clock & I will have to start my tea for supper on the little grill. I dont seen my stove as theres [[there's]] nothing to bake my rice pudding is still on ice & furnishes Pa with desert. he likes junkets pretty well. but I do as little as possible & get along. I have just answered the letter I received from that Christian Science Ma man.
