dry off quite as quick perhaps. I am just through my supper & its 5 O'clock Mrs Gilger came & delayed it. she watered my bulbs. its worried she is about her Edward. he was screaming with pain & they had a Dr come out of Boston but he could not size it up. he was here untill after midnight. she is pretty discouraged & dont know how to treat the case. I sent him over the books to read two of the Glen Island series he told his mother to bring him over something to read. she has kept him in bed all day & he is very nervous she is greatly worried & well she might be poor thing. I hope he will get some relief soon. I told her that people who did not believe in a hereafter ought to stay in this world untill they were sick of it. I was sick of it & was looking forward to a better one in the future. The sweat is running off my face as I write the letter. 

We had a strong NE wind in Boston blowing yesterday so Mrs Gilzger said. I hope we have some rain & it will cool off here by tomorrow. Ma
