Dear Doris

The ointment came to day so I guess there is a plenty to last now for some time to come. it is a hot day with no air just the day for a thunder shower to creep up. we are suffering for a good rain & hope we get it soon.

I have taken my sun bath out the back door its where I go now as it is nearer. I slept a very little last night but have had a few naps during the day. so in that way I hope to keep up my strength if possible. I do as little during the day as I am obliged to & in that way manage to crawl around the house with the aid of my cane & Pa's assistance. which he gives now & then when he thinks he is able. but every day is his last. I think my condition is rather wearing on him he seems greatly worried. I wish he would eat broths I cooked him an egg. which he liked. he misses my puddings & goes for the junkets & would eat mine if he could. Mrs Gilzer buys pecan nuts ground up to eat on their cereals she says it is very nourishing

Transcription Notes:
Edited: its & for 'and' not + which means plus, its Gilzer, (does anyone know what junkets are???) junket = a dessert of sweetened flavored milk
