Dear Doris
The day is hot & no air seems stirring a shower is almost sure to creep up if there is any sign of one I will make a gigantic effort to open up Sids little building as it must be very hot there I dread one but its the only way we can get cooled off as wet down I have been being down all the afternoon its now three o'clock sleeping some I sleep towards morning in spite of pain, which makes me dream bad ones the pain usually begins about ten & then I go from one bed to another trying to live through the unbearable stuff & then when morning does come my leg seems numb & no part of the rest of my body even tingles at the end of my big toe its right on the sciatica nerve I never experienced any thing eaqual to it before & hope it soon ceases to annoy you know it has bothered me for a long time about sleeping on any thing hard for a bed it was that same nerve that caused it & this nervous strain I have lived in so long has egged it on I presume I washed out a few things this morning & ironed Pa's shirt & my dress & made a deep custard I dont know as working does any harm little at a time its limbering when lying
