Dear Doris,

Partially cloudy & wind southeast. we are having cool delightful weather & bids fair to be a change. I have been keeping quiet for a day or two. I am feeling the effects of our sudden change from hot to cold weather, no appetite & lame in my joints, but I took some of Pa's tablets before going to bed last night [[(Celeastian Bill)?]] and got better nights sleep. the night before I did not sleep as I was in terrible pain & it seemed a long night to get through. guess there was little fever perhaps. Mrs Bing is feeling the effects of her fall, so Mrs B says. no appetite & every thing she takes, she sucks through a straw. her mouth is so sore & nose is split the gristle part, lucky she did not break the bone. Mrs B and I say we are going to take extra care in going down stairs so not to catch our heel & fall as she did. its an easy thing to do. I feel thankful for the railing to hang on to down the cellar stairs as it was much needed. I have just got Pa to change his clothes a task that I am glad when its over his clothes are on the line & will dry before night if it still remains pleasant overhead. I am sorry you have such trouble
