Dear Doris

This is a perfect day cool & comfortable & sunny. I have been working in the garden pretty much all day hoeing & working the fertilizer in where its needed. my plants are coming along fine. my roses are in their prime. lots of rose bugs. the horrid things what were they ever made for they eat right into the beds & flowers. Last night as I was thinking of going up to bed, an auto drove up & a man & woman came to the glass door. it looked like someone I had seen before. very soon it came to me to recognize the man as Mr. Harrington of the old place. he married a very pretty woman & smart as a whip. she works in the city, a designer of ladies dresses. so she told me. she had a package of Italian bread. little round sticks are long as your finger & very crisp also a bottle of honey for Pa. she was wanting some information about Mother Eddie, she has a friend in Boston who is coming out here & she asked me if I would like her to bring her down, so to get some information about when she was living with us. this lady was Christian since & had lots of money. & the cult now were anxious to get everything as to her life, before people that used to know her. (so they could get all the records for the book.)
