Burtis is coming to take her fathers house & live in it [the Thompson place]. it is in good condition as Lonnie always kept it up probably now things will be different that the boy is interested in his business. he looks like Lonnie. then there is another child a girl older. There is a car Lon used to drive & a garage to keep it in. they stepped into a well equipped home. for all they may say take considered lucky & no encumbrances to all appearances.

Mike Williams has just driven up & told me he would come & mow my grass around the house & in two weeks time come & mow the same area to the old place. I was lucky to be out in the yard to get him to do the job. he was driving by with his old blind horse. I gave him the harnesses & a blanket before, so guess he remembers it. he is an old used up begger [[beggar]]. but I was glad of a chance to get my grass mowed. as its getting pretty high & troublesome to go throug [[through]] when its [[it's]] wet. I could read Dorisids letter all night & think it a good beginning for such a little miss who never has been to school & it was pretty well illustrated. am glad to know she has so good a play mate to be out in her sand pile & be company for her during the day. I was scraping to gather her old sand heap here to Grandmas this morning thinking it would not be long before she would be here playing & little Mabel might come over to be company also & perhaps stay to dinner. well this will be all for today. Ma
