Dear Doris

A cool cloudy day after the rain of yesterday. I have just had my nap & finished the book. Alice has called up to tell me to come down & get a good book they have all read & want me to read before its carried back to the library. this is like our May storm cold North West wind prevails & damp & unpleasant weather one needs winter clothing to keep warm. I have got several errands to do down town. Pa will be crazy at the idea of my going its hard to get away at the last minute & takes my strength to think of going through it, he is past trying to reason he does not want me to leave him alone he is afraid. I am making a pudding baked indian. we both are fond of them. I have picked a huge bouquet for Alice she is very fond of flowers I have a lot around my two snow ball bushes are in their prime & two azaleas, white & pink. the seringas are just beginning to blossom. & back of the house there are a lot of viburnums in bloom & the wild cherry trees never were any prettier. the rain coming has brought our shrubs ahead. & we had a good lot this time
