Dear Doris

Another sunny day with cool wind. no rain yet. the painters are here taking off the blinds. Pa is keyed up to the top notch. he keeps water & says where are they going to begin. he could not compose himself enough to lie down & have his nap. I told Louie about the step & he is going to see the carpenter if Grant dont show up in a day or two. Mrs Gilzer my neighbor has gone to Boston & her dog was following her down town, so I got him in to the house untill [[until]] he forgot it. its a new dog they had given them good natured & young. (mongrel) I went down to the Cooperative bank to pay the dollars you spoke of & Ralph said "has'nt [[hasn't]] she had the notice; it must be she has". some one was in he was waiting on, so he said "I will see you in a day or two." that is all there was said & I don't know what he meant. do you? I will keep in touch 'till he explains more about his notice. I dont [[don't]] trust him too far. Louie thinks two coats will be none to much. he says he will see after he gets agoing [[going]].
