Dear Doris

This is another pleasant day. I have just written Lena & now will write a few lines to you. I have got my cleaning of the kitchen plastering most done I do a little every day so not to get to tired & when its done think it will be very good untill [[until]] a time when it can be thoroughly gone over in a proper manner. but Pa is to excitable at the present time to have someone come in to do the job. he is up stairs when I do the cleaning & knows nothing about it so far. I am going down to have my shoes. they were carried down yesterday & he said would be done to day. I shall be glad to get them they are very comfortable & were in need of tapping as they were worn through clear to the inner soul. Pa is up stairs & it its possible I will slip down without his being awair [[aware]] of it. it does nerve one up so to manage such things on the sly. well you dont [[don't]] know how it seems untill [[until]] you go through such. well I must get this ended & get back as soon as possible for his early supper. Ma
