Dear Doris

A good sunny morning. last night there was every indication of its being a stormy Sunday. I have taken advantage of the sunnyness of the weather & got my clothes out early. I have just been to breakfast & Pa has gone up stairs. I am going to make some sugar cookies when the fire gets up a bit, as it needs a hot oven to have them good. I made only a rice pudding yesterday. I bought a fowl 19 cents a lb. for the week end as I had not had any meat for a good while. it tasted good to me, but Pa was stuffy & would not eat it he thinks I am extravagant to get a fowl always & so spoils the enjoyment for me. so it will last the whole week, only four lbs. we dont have meat only once in a great while & he need not complain.
Mystic came yesterday she wants a job. she has been over in Norwood visiting Jinny. her old crony. she has grown fatter than ever. I never saw such legs on any body. she says that everything she eats goes to fat & she dont eat much. so she says she was sorry not to have seen Gladys. we got pretty made discussing Gerard. I told her what I thought of him & that Mary acted just right & it was a pity she had not taken her away before. but
