Dear Doris

The west wind brought us cooler weather for which we were thankful. leaves are growing fast & the lilacs are now coming ahead at last this week, as the cold N Wind made them rather backward at first. I have just been out & dug a good mess of dandelions they are now getting more plenty & blossoming. the wind has been strong & I have been blowing out bed clothes on the line. Pa has been anxious over seeing his things thru. it seems time to get off the storm windows & the screens in. life is a bother one thing after another year in & year out. the house cant be painted 'till the windows are off thats evident. I guess there is no more need of the outside windows only for the May storm but it only lasts a week & guess we can survive that. There are more narcissi blossoming they are later than the jonquils always. are the yellow ones the narcissi as well as the white. I have a lot of those that you got down to Springdale of those white, double & single. what my garden needs is fertilizing & I am going to get some down town & lug it home. they have it in small bags. the red bud is full of blossoms this year. it blossoms before leaving out.
