Dear Doris
I have been at home all day. this afternoon Mrs Osborne went off with her children the Kiddir family. Pa is a great trial his breath is still short + he coughs a good deal. I got him to soak his feet thinking it might make him feel more natural. his clothes were changed throughout to day with out any trouble, his appetite is falling off at night + his strength is gradually failing. he feels cold but seart if the heat is turned on. he sits on the radiator in the dining room a good deal. Lina sent him a big box of stuffed dates + me a pair of bed slippers + Mrs Osborne a mat for hot dishes. she told me to open up the box on account of the dates they are very soft with home made candy on the inside I have received so far lots of cards. Falbot sent his usual present of stockins to Pa nicely done up. Pa has come down after being in bed half an hour, he is getting on our nerve more from day to day. I hope he sleeps to night for my sake. I put a stone in his bed + one in her
