so nervous I did not sleep last night very good & feel upset today in my nervous system. no pain now days though. Your box has just come & I opened it up but only took out the candy for Pa & carried it right away in the hall & there it will remain

I am sorry you are doing so much for Xmas but suppose you enjoy it. have you got the check I sent the middle of the week please write when you receive the same. Pa reads your letters & always brings them in from the hall but he cant seem to enjoy anything he is so gloomy & will remain so to the end. He is losing his breathe towards night he can hardly breathe & complains of his chest sort of wheezes he is on the lounge as he hardly dares to leave, to go up to bed. I have covered him up & he may get a little rest. he is very tired & gaps. I dont know, he has changed in the last week or two, grows more feeble, then in the morning he seems more natural & eats breakfast & then is hungry for his dinner, but not for supper. I think perhaps he will gradually fail & the end may come sudden. but Mrs O says she sees no sign to worry about his condition. yet, we never can tell though. so if he may go sudden dont be surprised. his strength is going he shows it when he climes the stairs at night, he is all in. he said tonight he felt very weak, so I covered him up & left him to sleep which he said he should'nt, but I think he will.

not a very encouraging letter Ma
he has not taken any comfort since he was taken though
