Dear Doris

Did you get the check I sent Wednesday in the letter I hope it did not get lost or held up. I am sending a bundle of two little dresses for the baby I finished for her this last Saturday. they may not get these by Xmas. I had only a small piece to get the red one out of but it was so pretty I got it out. it may not show much, it will be becoming to her. it is all I am able to do this year. I hope you have not gone to too much expense on spending money on us. Lena she ought not to do anything for us either she has spent too much in getting settled already. I am waiting for Bruce to pay his rent so I can give her the money to pay her rent otherwise I will draw some out of the bank tomorrow. We are having terrible icy going & accidents. seven were injured here Friday. yesterday morning I heard about it as soon as I reached the hospital. Dr. Bredes had three of them there. so they could not come for me on Friday.
