Dear Doris

Another story day & warm with the wind in the south. Pat Mahony was buried this morning Manager for meads factory. he lived down on the corner of Chestnut & Walnut Streets & married Stella Bird. he was brother to meads wife & his brother was the one who used to play with Nevins. in Mahoneys orchestra Pa is down here complaining he is nervous & says he cant [[can't]] sleep & [seart?] [[scared]] we gave him a dish of warm water to put his hands in to see if it wont quiet him down & sit him down to warm drink its simply nerves that ails him. he has gone up stairs to hope he drops asleep. Alice just called up to ask me about the books if they were the ones we had not read. I was speaking to Miss O Brine about her & how she suffered with her sino trouble she said there was a cure for that 7 she used to have it to the worst way & it was something fierce but Dr Brides cleared the passage with drops he uses for such things & now she is free from it she told me to tell her to come down to him next time & he can do hers likewise Alice said she certainly would.
