Dear Doris

The storm still continues the rain has turned to snow. I have been down to the hospital & had to wait for the Dr to come home to rub my leg while waiting Miss O Brine told me that Pat Mahoney had been carried off in an ambulance to B Hospital & was not expected to survive, he married Warren Birds daughter & was in Meads factory one of the firm his mother was Meads sister I had a great time down to the hospital & when the doctor gives my foot a final pat his blessing goes with it & he does not deny it. Mrs Osborn has just put on the kettle & we all take afternoon tea. she lives by it in fact its the only meal she really enjoys as she is English to the back bone, its still snowing & growing colder the porch floor is covered with rain & snow where it blows in & I have just been out with mop & broom to try & keep it out she has brought in lots of the shingles but will have to wait for them to dry up now. I bring them in also & the branches from the cordelia tree to get rid of them & send the leaves away
