The doctor told me that when James did not come home last night from carry [[carrying]] me home, he had gone to New York he was so absent minded. you know we cant [[can't]] depend on him. thats [[that's]] the way he carries on down to the hospital. Poor James he was terribly worried he could'nt [[couldn't]] eat his supper. so Miss OBrine said & it was'nt [[wasn't]] his fault

Dear Doris

The day is far spent I have just got home James was all dressed ready with his foot ball suit which was red & white with white stockins [[stockings]]. the hospital was full of them, being treated. some their wrists bandaged & some their ankles. James was in his stockins [[stockings]] but when I reached home he waited a while for the house keeper but she was in her room changing her dress so he got out & helped me in.

Yesterday they came for me around 4 O'clock but I was on the road after my treatment all of an hour. James had the Dr tinkering over the car in the back yard it was acting bad & at first it went all right 'till it got as far as Prospect Street then it refused to go any father [[farther]] but rooled [[rolled]] backwards. he went into the little store then & call up the Dr & he sent a car to pick us up a friend of the Dr's a Brockton man, he pushed the car down to Jimmie Leharrs garage then took me in & brought me home. I offered to pay him, but he said no he was willing to do any thing for the doctor I was cold & hungry it seemed so good to get home & Mrs Osbourne
