Dear Doris

A sunny day after a cold night.  I suppose it will be cold tonight again.  Mrs Osbourn is dressed ready & waiting for the car to arrive to take her home.  Your package came yesterday & we fully appreciated them.  I let her have some to carry home to Flossy the invalid girl, where she is going this time.  She visits each of them in turn.  Earle Kidder is coming for her, he has an hour off after dinner.  (Ames estate) so she can stay longer with them.  We have had our afternoon tea.  We both enjoy it, she makes little cup cakes sometimes to eat with it.  Sometimes we eat little crackers & Pas has the same as we do.  The last two days we have had corn chowder, which was very good on these last two days.  It was such cold weather that it went to the right spot a good chowder & well seasoned.  Since she went Pa is searching for trouble.  He is upstairs now looking to see if the water in the expansion tank has run low.  Two days ago he filled it up.  He is for shutting up the draft before the coal gets ready after I have shook it down.  He keeps away when she is here.  He is now looking into everything.  He took me &
